ARTEMIDA

Traditional Cruise Vessel

Artemida is a wooden Greek traditional boat, “trechantiri” built in 1976 in the Valley of Messinia. It is handmade from pine wood. This type of boat has been used for centuries as a merchant ship in the Mediterranean. Its construction techniques go from boat crafter to apprentice over the years. Its design ensures balance and safe travel especially in the Aegean, where the waves are small but strong. Old sailors say these hulls can’t be overturned.

The boat travels at speeds of up to 8 knots, with wind speeds of up to 5 Beaufort.
